I'm Turning into a Botanist!?

Lately I noticed, I can't stop taking picture of plants, flowers, trees, anything really that is blooming!

I think I might be turning into a Botanist! Because every time I take picture of plant I find interesting,

I head on over the web and learn more about it.

For instance, Forsythia, is native to eastern Asia and its part of the Olive Family! It is also considered to be one the 50 fundamental herbs in Chinese herbology. The forsythia herb is known to help with common colds, flu's, allergies too.

Pretty cool huh? And this is all right in my backyard. :)

I can't wait for more things to start growing and blooming and of course the warmer weather!

Also, to share with you!

Bloomin' Cattails!

The other day I needed gas, so I stop at a Sheetz. While I pulled in I noticed this patch of cattails! Luckily, I had my camera! So instead of pumping gas right away, I ran over and started snapping away! People probably thought I was nuts! Which I guess I can't blame them.

At first when I took these pictures I wasn't quite sure if they were Cattails. I wasn't used to seeing them with all the cotton-like fluff on top. So I did a little research and the fluff is actually seeds which blow away, in hopes that new ones will grow.

Interesting fact:

While researching I found out that some Native Americans actually used this cotton-like fluff for moccasins. Pretty cool huh? I think these cattails could have made quite a few moccasins!

Breaking Benjamin, Flyleaf, & Three Days Grace

These pictures I took a little while back, before the SLR, I could only imagine how they would have turned out if I did have it! I enjoyed the show but I think I enjoyed more messing with my camera. Is that wrong? haha :)

Duckie Day at the Park

On Saturday I took my son to the park. It was actually his first trip to the park since he has been able to walk. He wasn’t used to the ground that wasn’t flat, so he stumble around quite a lot. But because of this he discovered woodchips and dirt! Yep! It went straight into the mouth! Not only did I take a million pictures of him. I took some other “artsy” pictures—what I like to call them. I’m sure there’s a better name for them, like still life, close ups, etc… But I think most people get the gist of what I referring to. :P
I was really drawn to the school bus colored duck bounce. It reminded me of when I was younger. Haven’t they been around forever? So I started snapping pictures and this is what I came up with.

Here are few other pictures I took that day:

Can you tell I had thing for YELLOW that day! :)
