Maybe its a Mom thing, but when I see things I often break out my tunes!
Ok ok... Maybe its not a mom thing... maybe I have been doing this my whole life. :P
But in this instance I was working on picture of spider webs (look below :P) and it sure did make me break out my nursery rhyme skills. Kade does really enjoy my voice. I discovered even when I'm sick and snotty and I don't have much a voice he still loves it! Then again he also thinks its funny when I tell him "No!" or "Don't do that!" (which seems a lot these days since he is getting into everything!)
But I'm really straying away from the point of my post....
My Pictures!
Memorial weekend I went on hike with some of my family!
It was quite a journey! I really love being outdoors and I really love taking pictures so just add that with beautiful sun-filled day and what do you get! Heaven! So here are few pictures from my family hike! You'll notice that there are quite bit of Itsy bitsy spider cob webs in the woods too. :P
Back in April my best friend, Moe, who got married in late October, wanted some FUN pictures of herself in her wedding dress! Of course, I couldn't say no!
We both have heard and seen photography known as Trash the Dress and wanted to attempt to do this. Basically, Trash the Dress is photography that contrasts elegant clothing with an out-of-place environment. So we spiced up her look and just had fun in different environments!
In many of the examples we found, people actually ruin their dresses. (For example: soaking, burning them, splattering them with paint!) On the other hand, Moe didn't mind a little dirt here and there but she wanted to be able to keep her dress... possibly to hand down to her future daughter. (She is now expecting! And I keep telling her that she is going to have a girl! I'm so excited to be an Auntie!)
I have to be honest, while researching tulips,
I didn't really find many interesting facts that really struck my fancy.
Which doesn't mean the flower itself isn't interesting!
Because it is! Hence why I photographed it!
I did find out that Tulips are third-most popular flower.
Which made me wonder, what are the top 10 flowers?
So Here are the Top 10:
Rose was a given!
Is your favorite listed?
(information found from www.theflowerexpert.com)
"Character is like a tree and reputation like its shadow.
The shadow is what we think of it; the tree is the real thing."
"I will prepare and some day my chance will come."
"Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe. "
I took this picture just fun! Enjoy :D
Narcissus's also know as Daffodil's are in full bloom around this time of the year.
So of course I had to break out my camera and take a picture of this yellow beauty!
Although a lot of us are draw to it because its eye popping color.
I'm drawn to flowers not solely for their colors but their elegant shape and form.
This is why I choose to make these pictures black and white.
I believe color can distract us from what is also beautiful.
So, hopefully you will find this photos as beautiful as I do!
Fun Fact about Narcissus's:
Did you know that ancient Greeks believe that plant originated Narcissus
Vain youth? Narcissus died after falling in love with his own reflection in a pool of water.
The Greeks believe a flower was from his remains.
You must admit he did make a beautiful flower :P
Lately I noticed, I can't stop taking picture of plants, flowers, trees, anything really that is blooming!
I think I might be turning into a Botanist! Because every time I take picture of plant I find interesting,
I head on over the web and learn more about it.
For instance, Forsythia, is native to eastern Asia and its part of the Olive Family! It is also considered to be one the 50 fundamental herbs in Chinese herbology. The forsythia herb is known to help with common colds, flu's, allergies too.
Pretty cool huh? And this is all right in my backyard. :)
Interesting fact:
While researching I found out that some Native Americans actually used this cotton-like fluff for moccasins. Pretty cool huh? I think these cattails could have made quite a few moccasins!
Here are few other pictures I took that day:
Can you tell I had thing for YELLOW that day! :)
